City Chic By Karlin Hedin
“The bustier and skirt are made from fused plastic bags that come from Finland, France, and the United States. The large over skirt is made from a discarded easy up nylon tent. Each piece was inspired by the materials and current designers. I love creating unique pieces of clothing and accessories out of all different mediums.”
Karlin has been designing clothing for over 20 years. She majored in fashion design and merchandising in college and put herself through school designing and making wedding dresses. Her mother taught her to sew when she was 8 and she has loved it ever since. Currently work for Sara Bella Upcycled, Karlin has gone from sewing on silk to sewing on trash. Just like fashion, each piece is unique, colorful, and personal.
